About Arcadia University

Arcadia University is a private liberal arts university located in Glenside, which is a census-designated place is Abington, Cheltenham, and Springfield Townships, in Montgomery County, in the US state of Pennsylvania, with nearly 8000 people, leaving within its limits, at the time of the 2000 census estimate.

The university was established in 1853 and was originally located in Beaver, Pennsylvania, first starting as Beaver Female Seminary, moving to its present location, in 1928, and adopting its current name in July 2001, when it gained university status.

Through its colleges - Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, Business, Health & Sciences, Global Studies, Continuing Studies and Office of the Provost - Arcadia offers its students B.A., B.F.A., and B.S. in more than 45 fields of study, including M.A., M.B.A., M.Ed., M.S.; D.P.T. and Ed.D.

Athletics

Arcadia's athletic teams are known as the Knights and they compete in NCAA Division III (MASCAC Conference). Their distinctive colors are scarlet and gray.
